SYS/PROFILE
Profile
I work where automation, infrastructure, networking, security and development meet — building systems that are more reliable, more useful and a little more considered than they need to be.

LOG/BACKGROUND
Engineering, then everything after it.
I started in civil engineering, moved through technical and network engineering, and ended up where the interesting problems were: automation, infrastructure and the systems that hold an organisation together.
Today I look after a robotic process automation environment — watching scheduled work, responding when something upstream changes, and building automation that survives contact with the real world. Alongside that I have been building websites since 2013, which is how I learned hosting, email infrastructure and everything that goes wrong at 2am.
Security became the lens rather than a separate discipline. I am Certified in Cybersecurity through ISC2, working through an enterprise security nanodegree, studying computer science at 42KL, and applying all of it to the infrastructure I actually run.
Outside work the same curiosity goes underwater. As a PADI Pro / Divemaster, diving, travel and photography are where I stop optimising systems and just look at them.

LOG/EDUCATION
Still studying.
2023 — PRESENT
Computer Science
42KL — Sunway Education Group
A peer-to-peer learning model with no traditional teachers or lectures. Progress comes from building, reviewing other people's work and being reviewed in turn.
2023 — PRESENT
Enterprise Security — Nanodegree
Udacity
Enterprise security across network, data, endpoint and application protection, covering defence design, data integrity and privacy regulation compliance.
2010 — 2014
Civil Engineering, B.Eng (Hons)
University of Birmingham, United Kingdom
A structural and infrastructure engineering foundation — buildings, bridges, roads and the systems thinking that carries over into technical work.
